The global demand for carbon fiber in 2014 was about 53000 tons, slightly higher than the expected figure for the same period last year, an increase of 14% (46500 tons) compared with the previous year, double the demand in 2009 (26500 tons) after the financial crisis. Since the overall economic downturn in 2009, the demand for carbon fiber has shown a steady growth trend. In 2009, the growth rate exceeded 20%. In the following years, the annual growth rate gradually decreased, reaching 6.9% in 2013. From 2013 to 2014, we saw another significant growth, with an annual growth rate of 14%. Looking into the future, it can be predicted that the annual growth rate will increase slightly, stable at about 12%, and the demand market of carbon fiber will exceed 100000 tons by 2020.
